Nudge
A “nudge” is a record of a task or event with an associated history and message thread. Nudges have senders (service providers, like financial advisors) and recipients (most often, clients of the sender). There are two kinds of nudges:Actionable nudges
If the nudge describes a task, it’s “actionable” and can be “marked complete”. Actionable nudges can produce multiple reminders (and usually do). If the nudge has multiple recipients, one is considered the “assignee”.Informational nudges
An “informational” nudge documents, for example, work that an advisor has done on a client’s behalf. There’s no action needed, but all parties will have a record of that work which they can view in context.Notification
Certain events (like marking a nudge complete) produce notifications that will be sent to either the nudge’s recipients, its sender, or both. Most often, these are communicated as emails, but users can configure their own notification settings to add or remove notification channels — for example, text messages.Reminder
A nudge may generate one or more reminders. These are notifications sent to nudge recipients to let them know the nudge exists or to remind them that there’s an incomplete task. Unlike other notifications, these can occur without a specific user action, but the frequency and timing of reminders can be adjusted manually.
Over time, Knudge gets smarter about sending reminders when they’re most likely to be useful.
